Sweet!

How sweet it is to find a sugar substitute that has no after-taste, has 40% less calories than cane sugar, does not cause the release of insulin, prevents tooth decay up to 80%, and is found to inhibit bacteria build up in the mouth, nose, throat, even middle ear infections (in particular, Strep pneumo and H Flu).

XyloSweet is a low-carb natural sugar that is found in the cobs of corn and in birch trees, xylan hemicellulose, which has been approved and used in food manufacturing since the '60's.

XyloSweet passed my husband's taste test. I can't tell the difference between regular sugar and XyloSweet when I use it as a sweetner in my tea, or adding to recipes. However, when a recipe calls for a lot of sugar, it is not cost-effective. A single 4-gram serving has 9.6 calories, and 0-grams of net effective carbs.

I found my box of 100 individual packets at KIVA, in Eugene; you can use their online store locater to find a grocer near you that stocks Xylo. Sweet!
