not enough cows?

I used to buy Stonyfield's FAT FREE organic yogurt, but awhile back that product disappeared from the shelves. I read there was some shortage of organic milk. Maybe they need to recruit more organic farms to join their co-op. I think that's great news, that organics are getting a larger market share. Next they need to tackle the plastic packaging.

Organic Lowfat Yogurt

I eat yogurt every day. It is nice to know that I am eating a product that is good for me, better for the environment than products from non-organic yogurt producing companies and it tastes great! Another bonus - if you live in the boonies like me and have limited shopping opps - it is available at Jewel Food Stores.

I loooooooove Stoneyfield Yogurt

They are the most delicious yogurt I have ever eaten... I go to wholesale markets and buy bulks of them, cuz I have to eat them everyday. The OSoy is my favorite, and the fruit on the bottom are mmmm goood too. :)

yogurt for a new day

I have never liked yogurt. Something about the consistency of it make me gag. It just never hit me right.

I realize that yogurt is good for you--it's got all sorts of great stuff in it to keep a system clean and healthy. So, I decided to make myself like it (kind of like I did with pickles...long story). I started eating it--shopping around for my kind of yogurt.

I went through the basics--the gnarly yogurts I loved to hate. Then I found stonyfield farms yogurt--real fruit in the bottom, not loaded with preservatives, nonfat with taste. I love it. I love it. I eat it with my lunches. It's just amazing and I've turned many over to the good side of the yogurt universe. This stuff really is good.

Organic and Tasty!

I am one who has traditionally loved the "sugared up" versions of yogurt from companies like Yoplait. I have tried non-fat yogurts before but oftentimes that means getting something with Splenda or another sugar substitute.

The Straus yogurt was creamy and had amazing flavor that didn't seem fake. I will definitely be buying their products regularly as they just taste healthier.

Try it!

Why Struse farms need to plant trees

I have wanted to talk to the Strauss family about the planting of crop trees in a perm culture fashion which in on contour swale fashion. Books to read regarding this is Water for every farm An Australian mining engineer who turned farmer built a system of earth dams and swales at nick points to distribute water over a large area for irrigation purposes, Tree crops a permanent agriculture, this is about research done at the turn of the 1930 - 1940 just after the dust bowl period with the help of the US agriculture department, The trees I would recommend are Carob, when cows are fed or self feed on carob they give a 20 to 25% increase milk fat content put on weight at 10 - 15% faster rate than cows fed on hay, That the trees are drought tolerant and grow well in your district, there are samples growing in the town just up from San Rafel. The Carob is a crop with its own value The fruiting season is in the late summer to early fall when the grass crop has finished, and is at its lowest nutrient content. with careful management the cows can self feed from the trees, initial set up will include some fencing which can be electric, to prevent the cows form stripping early growth, the trees in about 3 - 5 years will begin to crop at 20 -30 pounds, at 15 to 20 about 1 - 2 tons per tree, You can create green credits as you are planting a carbon crop, the trees are leguminous which means that they are nitrogen fixers, adding to the fertility of your soil. the other thing to consider is planting bamboo about your sludge pond and putting down wood chip swales in the down stream section this you can seed with mushrooms it will do a great deal to reduce the E-coli and sediment build up in Tomalis bay making you better neighbors to the oyster farmers, and better stewards of the land I used to live just down hill of you with David on the landing, his spring is on your land, To improve the spring flow the swales hold water on the land and allow it to percolate into the aquifers, keeping your grass green longer,

Good plain yogurt, flavored yogurts too sweet

I like their plain organic yogurt- good and rich. Their fruit-flavored yogurts taste a bit too sweet. As opposed to Wallaby organic yogurts the fruit is at the bottom of the yogurt cups and is too syrupy and excessively sweet. Their plain yogurt is worth buying in the large 32 oz. size, but I'd say to go for Wallaby individual cups instead of Stoneyfield's.

Stoneyfield Yogurt

This yogurt not only tastes great (I like all the flavors), but I am able to eat it despite being slightly lactose intolerant. I highly recommend this product.

they turn the old containers into toothbrushes!

This yogurt is the best and you can save up your old containers, send them in, and they will turn them into toothbrushes.

Stoneyfield yogurt is the best!

I eat Stonyfield organic yogurt every day at least once, sometimes more. It is not to sweet, but has lots of flavor. I don't feel good unless I get my daily "dose."
