Ever since I spent my honeymoon on the Oregon coast in a yurt, I've been daydreaming about owning a yurt someday. I stumbled upon a great resource - Pacific Yurts. What a great selection. And so many custom options. Since I discovered the yurt photo gallery on the Pacific Yurts website, I've been visualizing a future that revolves around my very own yurt. Comfortable, durable, versatile and transportable - yurts strike me as a great low-impact and affordable housing solution. A yurt seems fairly simple to construct - and if you change your mind about location, you can take it down, move it and put it back together again somewhere else. For a semi-nomadic spirit like me, yurts have a nice sense of freedom built right in. Centuries ago my ancestors lived in an ancient version of these yurts. Maybe I'm just feeling the tug to rediscover my roots...an irresistible urge to stargaze from my own cozy little semi-nomadic shelter. The yurt lifestyle strikes me as simple yet richly rewarding. So, now that I've found THE YURT, I can think about location-location-location :o)
