The Leash We Can Do

Last great book or movie

Watched: Charlie Wilson's War. Read: Woman's Best Friend, (short stories about dogs)

My Dream Product

Student Loans are TOXIC. We must find a machine that eliminates them!

How we'll get around in 20 years...

depends on what you mean by "getting around." Just kidding. I don't have a good answer for this. 20 years is too soon to think about.

Offline, find me...

Walking dogs, riding a scooter, saving the world.

My heroes

Mommy. Not totally green, but she's damn thrifty. We used to call conservation "I can't afford it."

My non-green guilty pleasure

Having animal companions. Humans disappoint. I would not be able to tolerate them without furry family members.

Comment on Stephanie P.'s review of Food Waste Bags

This is a rather late comment, but BioBags makes a breathable small compost bin for this exact purpose. Because the bags let moisture escape, when you put them in a plastic garbage can the entire design of the bag is kind of defeated. The small compost bin combined with the small food waste bags lets the moisture escape so the food dries out instead of turning to mush. If you're not creating that much waste, this would probably be a better option.

Comment on Amy M.'s review of Smart Ground Taco Burrito

that sounds good, but until I work less than 18 hours a day, smart ground burrito it is!

I'll keep this recipe though. sounds yummy. maybe my student loans will magically disappear and I'll have time to cook again...

Comment on Amy M.'s review of Feline Fresh

Yes, we tried corn (world's best, I believe it was) and recycled newspaper and found them to smell AWFUL. This is the only thing we've liked so far.

We had tried Feline Pine before settling on this one. I don't know for sure where Feline Pine is made, but Feline Fresh is made here in the US, which is really important to me, especially with the economy as it is and with all of the recalls that have happened over the last few years. Part of being green, is buying as local as possible.

The only complaints I've really seen are that either the cats don't go for it right away or from people who don't want to scoop the poo. We scoop the poo every day and nothing else smells at all. Urine odor is zero. Since nothing really sticks to the poo, there's no litter wasted.

Comment on Amy M.'s review of Food Waste Bags

We have some baby cilantros sprouting right now! And yes, while its not organic, we do find the herbs at the Mexican grocer down the street do last longer.

Can't wait for my baby cilantros to grow up!

Comment on Amy M.'s review of Food Waste Bags

yes, I have, but I've found that washing, picking the leaves off AND putting it in the Biobags have made it last the absolute longest of all.

Thanks for your comment!

If it weren't my fav herb of all, I definitely would have given up on it before finding this solution!
